Iranian politician Seyed Mahmoud Nabavian has warned against relinquishing control over the Strait of Hormuz in any agreement with what he described as the country’s “enemy”.
In a post on X translated from Persian, Nabavian said: “Abandoning management and governance over the Strait of Hormuz in an agreement with the enemy, for any reason, is pure damage and will lead to the defeat of the Iranian nation.”
The remarks come amid ongoing discussions surrounding a possible agreement linked to tensions in the Gulf and the future of shipping through the strategic waterway, a key route for global oil and gas supplies. –Agencies
