Iran’s nuclear allegations ‘biggest lie of the century’: Baqaei

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei has rejected allegations over Tehran’s nuclear programme, calling them “the century’s biggest lie”, state-run Press TV reported.

Speaking at an event in Tehran, Baqaei said the narrative had been fabricated by the US and its allies to justify decades of pressure and economic restrictions on Iran.

He said the alleged “Iranian threat” was among the biggest falsehoods fabricated globally over the past 70 to 80 years.

Baqaei added that despite no evidence of Iran diverting its nuclear programme towards non-peaceful purposes, the US and its allies had continued to uphold the allegations. –Agencies
