ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Qazi Faez Isa has ordered the deposit of a valuable gift in the Toshakhana, the government’s repository for gifts received by officials.
The gift, a prestigious pen ‘Baab-e-Kaaba’, was presented to the chief justice by Dr Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League.
Chief Justice Isa directed that the pen be placed in the Toshakhana and expressed his wish for it to be displayed in the Supreme Court Museum.
The chief justice’s secretary wrote to the secretary of the cabinet division regarding this matter. Fol-lowing approval from the prime minister, the cabinet division has permitted the pen to be displayed in the Supreme Court Museum. Dr Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa had presented the gift to Chief Justice Isa during their meeting on April 8. Dr Al-Issa had also approved of the pen being displayed for public viewing at the Supreme Court Museum. –Agencies
