Islamabad, Cairo agree to boost bilateral ties

ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of Egypt, Dr Ihab Abdelhamid Hassan called on Minister for Defence, Defence Production and Aviation, Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Thursday.
Defense Minister exclaimed that Pakistan and Egypt enjoy cordial historical ties. There exists a greater confidence and mutual trust in their bilateral relations, he said in a news release.
In addition to this, Defence Minister also expressed that Egypt is an important country in the region and its stability and progress is vital for peace and prosperity in the Middle Eastern region. The Defence Minister reiterated that Pakistan strongly condemns the Israeli aggression on Gaza and expresses full solidarity with our brothers in Palestine.
Defence Minister highlighted that the relations between Egypt and Pakistan have a great potential to grow in all fields, including defence production. The visiting dignitary thanked the honourable minister for his good wishes and conveyed his government’s commitment to work closely with Pakistan in all matters of mutual interest including defence.
Earlier, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has reiterated Pakistan’s commitment towards peaceful resolution of all outstanding regional issues.
He was talking to the Ambassador of Tajikistan, Sharifzoda Yusuf Toir who called on him in Islamabad.
During the meeting, matters pertaining to bilateral defence, aviation and economic cooperation came under discussion. The Minister appreciated the efforts of Tajikistan in promoting peace and economic connectivity in the region.
Speaking on the occasion, Tajik Ambassador highlighted the brotherly ties that exist between the people of two countries.
He assured his government’s commitment to collaborate with Pakistan in various areas of mutual interest.
