Islamabad to host NAFLC in March

Islamabad: Australian Football League (AFL) in Pakistan has decided to hold the National Australian Football League Championship in Islamabad in the last week of March 2021. The decision was taken in the meeting in Islamabad yesterday under the chairmanship of President Sardar Tariq Mehmood Khan.
The representatives of the Punjab, Sindh, KPK, Sindh, Azad Jammu Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Islamabad and various clubs were also part of the meeting. Secretary-General, AFL Pakistan Chaudhry Zulfiqar Ali also presented the one year report of the AFP.
After the meeting, President Sardar Tariq Mehmood Khan told the media that the various issues were discussed in the meeting, including the holding of the National Australian Football League Championship and amendments to the current AFL constitution and other issues.
“National Australian Football League Championship will be played in the last week of March. Ten teams from across the country will take part in the championship, including two teams from Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Sindh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Islamabad,” President announced.
“The championship will be played under the auspices of Australian Football League Pakistan and AFL rules on a league basis,” he added.
Meanwhile, he said that the next special meeting of the AFL Pakistan will be held in March.
