ISLAMABAD: Following the special directions of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Islamabad Traffic Police ensured excellent traffic management during the Chehlum procession.

In this regard, Islamabad Traffic Police issued a special traffic plan. According to the plan, the Chehlum procession started from the central Imambargah in G-6 and concluded at the same location after passing through it’s designated route.

During the procession, roads on both sides will remain closed for regular traffic, while alternative routes were provided to maintain the flow of traffic. Chief Traffic Officer, Captain (retd) Syed Zeeshan Haider stated that the public should avoid illegal parking around the procession route and park their vehicles only in the designated parking areas to help maintain a coordinated traffic system in the city.
He further said that Islamabad Traffic Police personnel are present in the field to guide citizens towards alternative routes, and citizens should use these alternative routes during the procession to avoid any inconvenience. He also urged the public to cooperate with Islamabad Traffic Police and act responsibly as good citizens.
