ISLAMABAD: Following the special directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Islamabad Traffic Police have initiated special measures to maintain traffic flow, improve the organized traffic system, and ensure compliance with traffic laws across the federal capital.

In this regard, Islamabad Traffic Police are taking strict action against drivers violating no-parking rules and encroaching on footpaths. Special teams have been formed to monitor illegal parking at shopping malls, markets, commercial centers, and major roads throughout Islamabad.
Chief Traffic Officer Islamabad, Capt. (retd) Hamzah Humayun, has issued specific instructions to all zonal DSPs to ensure strict enforcement of traffic laws and to take indiscriminate action against elements that obstruct traffic flow, particularly those disrupting traffic discipline.
He further emphasized that parking in areas designated for commercial purposes must be strictly observed, and no leniency will be shown to violators. Footpaths are meant for pedestrians, and no parking or obstruction will be tolerated on them.
All possible facilities will be provided to citizens visiting commercial centers. Citizens are urged to cooperate with Islamabad Police by following traffic rules to help maintain an organized traffic system in the city.
