ISLAMABAD: Following the special directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Islamabad Traffic Police has extended the deadline to obtain a driving license by 07 days.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad, Capt. (retd) Hamzah Humayun stated that citizens must obtain their driving license by October 7, 2025. From October 8, strict action will be taken against individuals driving without a valid license.
This includes registration of cases, arrests, and impounding of vehicles or motorcycles at the police station. He emphasized that this action will be taken indiscriminately, regardless of a citizen’s background or status.
He further added that Islamabad Traffic Police will provide every possible facility to citizens until October 7. In this regard, citizens can get their licenses made from the Faizabad traffic office, all Khidmat Markaz, and traffic facilitation vans.
CTO Islamabad further appealed to the public to obtain their driving licenses by October 7 without fail, urging all drivers to act as responsible and law-abiding citizens.
Driving without a license is a danger to both the driver’s life and the lives of others, and Islamabad Traffic Police will not allow any citizen to put lives at risk. The aim of this decision is to provide maximum ease and facilitation to the public.
