ITP finalizes comprehensive traffic plan

ISLAMABAD: Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad Kainat Azhar Khan chaired a meeting regarding Independence Day celebrations. The meeting reviewed special arrangements to ensure smooth traffic flow, facilitate citizens’ movement, and strengthen traffic management across the federal capital.
The meeting discussed a comprehensive strategy to maintain smooth traffic flow in view of the expected movement of large numbers of citizens toward recreational areas, major roads, and event venues. Measures including the deployment of additional traffic officials at major roads, intersections, recreational areas, and congested locations, along with effective monitoring and timely guidance for citizens, were also reviewed.
CTO Islamabad directed the concerned officers to utilize all available resources to ensure smooth traffic flow on Independence Day. He said that facilitating citizens’ movement, effectively managing traffic congestion, and ensuring a prompt response to any unusual situation would remain priorities.
He further directed traffic officials deployed in the field to demonstrate courteous and responsible conduct toward citizens, ensure compliance with traffic laws, and provide timely guidance regarding alternative routes, parking areas, and other necessary information.
CTO Islamabad Kainat Azhar Khan made it clear that Islamabad Traffic Police would remain fully mobilized to ensure public convenience and a safe travel environment on Independence Day, and that unnecessary disruptions to traffic flow would not be allowed.
