ISLAMABAD: Following the special directives of the IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Islamabad Police has been continuously conducting awareness sessions on traffic laws and road safety for citizens at various educational institutions and private centers in the federal capital.
In this regard, on the instructions of the Chief Traffic Officer Islamabad, Capt. (R) Hamzah Humayun, the education wing organized a one-day road safety workshop at the Government Degree College for Women, Rawalpindi to educate students about traffic laws.
More than 300 female students attended the workshop, during which they were informed about road safety and traffic regulations, including the dangers of using mobile phones while driving, the importance of wearing seat belts, the risks of riding motorcycles without helmets, respecting the rights of other road users, proper use of footbridges and zebra crossings, and the dangers of over-speeding, one-way violations, and other traffic law violations.
On this occasion, the college administration appreciated the initiative and stated that the Islamabad Police education wing organized an excellent workshop for their students, through which they learned many important things.
They emphasized that such workshops are of great importance and should continue in the future.
Chief Traffic Officer Islamabad, Hamzah Humayun, stated that the aim of the workshop was to raise traffic awareness among students, reduce road accidents, and develop a sense of responsibility so that they can remain safe themselves and also set an example for others.
