ISLAMABAD: Following the special directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Islamabad Traffic Police has issued a special traffic advisory for the visit of the foreign cricket team to Islamabad/Rawalpindi.
As per the advisory, 310 officers of the Traffic Police will perform their duties to ensure a smooth traffic system. Test matches will be held at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from October 20 to 29, 2025. For public convenience, an alternative traffic plan has been prepared:
Citizens traveling from Margalla Road towards Khanna should use Faisal Avenue, Blue Area, Club Road and Lehtrar Road. To reach Sectors G-9, G-10, G-11, and Tarnol, use Faisal Avenue and F-10 road.
Travelers coming from Rawalpindi Saddar to Islamabad should use Peshawar Morr, Srinagar Highway. Those traveling via IJP Road to Islamabad should use Sabzi Mandi road.
Chief Traffic Officer Islamabad, Capt. (retd) Hamzah Humayun stated that officers of the Islamabad Traffic Police will be present on service roads to guide citizens.
He further added that during team movement especially during morning office hours, school timings, and evening rush hours traffic flow on Expressway and Srinagar Highway may be affected. Citizens are advised to leave with extra time and practice patience during travel in peak hours.
He assured that Islamabad Traffic Police will make every effort to minimize public inconvenience. Citizens will be kept informed via Islamabad Police’s social media pages and FM Radio 92.4 regarding traffic updates.
