ISLAMABAD: Following the special directions of CTO Islamabad Muhammad Sarfraz Virk, the Islamabad Traffic Police education wing and ITP Cavaliers conducted a special awareness campaign across the city regarding traffic laws and road safety.
The aim of the campaign was to raise awareness among citizens about helmet use, lane violations, one-way violations, and dangerous driving. During the campaign, citizens, especially motorcyclists and young drivers were briefed on the importance of traffic laws, safe driving principles, and practical methods to avoid road accidents.
Islamabad Traffic Police officials also informed citizens that wearing a helmet is not only a legal requirement but also an effective means of saving lives, while violations such as lane discipline breaches, one-way violations, and over-speeding contribute to an increase in road accidents.
On this occasion, pamphlets were also distributed among citizens, and they were encouraged to strictly follow traffic laws.
Awareness teams urged citizens to exercise extreme caution while driving, obey traffic signals, and adopt responsible behavior to ensure their own safety as well as the safety of others.
CTO Islamabad Muhammad Sarfraz Virk said that citizens should not consider traffic laws merely as a legal requirement but should adopt them as a social responsibility so that accidents can be reduced and a safe and efficient traffic system can be promoted in the city.
He further added that awareness campaigns will continue, and strict action will also be taken against traffic violators without any discrimination.
