ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Traffic Police has launched the Traffic Volunteer Program during the holy month of Ramadan to effectively manage the increasing traffic pressure, reduce congestion in markets and provide convenience to citizens.
This special initiative has been taken under the special directives of the IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi.
The program is being implemented in major markets of Islamabad especially Super Market, Jinnah Super Market, Aabpara Market, Karachi Company, G-9 Markaz and other busy commercial centers to ensure coordinated traffic flow.
The primary objective of the program is to maintain uninterrupted traffic flow on the roads, provide citizens with safe and comfortable travel facilities and promote the enforcement of traffic laws.
Additionally, it aims to effectively manage the increasing traffic pressure during Iftar and Sehar times in Ramadan, provide alternative routes and address parking issues.
CTO Islamabad Captain (retd) Syed Zeeshan Haider said Islamabad Traffic Police is making special arrangements to provide the best travel facilities to citizens during Ramadan. Our goal is to make roads safer and facilitate public travel. He urged citizens to follow traffic laws and cooperate with volunteers to maintain coordinated traffic flow in the city.
He further added that for public awareness, information about traffic flow is being provided through various social media platforms including FM Radio 92.4. Citizens can call Islamabad Police Helpline “Pucar-15” for any kind of information.
