ISLAMABAD: Following the special directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Islamabad Traffic Police has begun registering cases against drivers who violate one way routes and other traffic rules.
This initiative aims to protect citizens from accidents and to ensure compliance with traffic safety regulations. In this regard, special squads of the Islamabad Traffic Police have been deployed to all major roads and important locations across the federal capital.
These squads are actively taking legal action against drivers who violate one-way traffic rules.
So far, 93 drivers have had cases registered against them, and 319 vehicles and motorcycles have been impounded at various police stations.
Chief Traffic Officer Islamabad, Capt. (retd) Hamzah Humayun, stated that violating one-way traffic not only disrupts the flow of traffic but also causes serious accidents and loss of precious lives.
He emphasized that the protection of citizens lives and property is the top priority of the police, and violations of one-way rules will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
He urged all drivers to strictly follow traffic rules and regulations. He also appealed to the public to respect traffic laws and drive safely to protect their own lives as well as the lives of others from accidents.
