ISLAMABAD: Following the special directions of IGP Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Islamabad Traffic Police has taken special measures to maintain traffic flow, improve the integrated traffic system, and ensure strict adherence to traffic laws.
In this regard, Islamabad Traffic Police has initiated indiscriminate actions against drivers violating no-parking zones and illegally parking on footpaths.
A special squad has also been formed to continue the crackdown against illegal parking in shopping malls, markets and commercial centers of Islamabad.
Chief Traffic Officer Islamabad, Captain (Retd) Syed Zeeshan Haider, issued special instructions to all zonal DSPs, emphasizing the need to strictly enforce traffic laws to reduce violations.
He directed that, actions against drivers obstructing traffic flow and disrupting road discipline be made more stringent and effective.
He further stated that parking should only be allowed in designated parking areas at shopping centers, and violators of no-parking zones will not be given any leniency.
He emphasized that pedestrians have the right to walk on footpaths, and no parking or obstruction will be tolerated on them. Citizens visiting commercial centers will be provided with all possible facilities.
Moreover, citizens were urged to cooperate with Islamabad Police by adhering to the law, ensuring the smooth operation of the city’s integrated traffic system.
