Harare: Javeria Khan scored 81 runs off 115 balls to lay down a solid foundation for Pakistan women to beat Zimbabwe women by 178 runs in first 50-overs game here on Tuesday.
Nashra Sandhu picked up four wickets as Pakistan bowled out Zimbabwe for a paltry 77. Nida Dar also shined with his 3-9 whereas Diana Baig bagged a wicket.
While batting first, Pakistan were not off to a good start after losing two wickets in early overs. Muneeba Ali went out for four runs while Ayesha Zafar made 14 runs.
But, Javeria stood there for long as the right-handed batsman struck eight boundaries to make 81 runs and help Pakistan score 255-6 in 50 overs. Aliya Riaz supported her skipper well with her 74-run knock laced with six boundaries and a maximum.
Nomvelo Sibanda and Esther Mbofana bagged two wickets each.
In reply, the hosts kept on losing wickets after regular intervals. Pelaji Mujaji was the highest run-scorer from them with 16 runs.
Javeria was named man-of-the-match for her prominent knock.
