ISLAMABAD: The rehearsal of the Pakistan Day parade was held in Islamabad on Friday with Air Force jets performing aerobatic manoeuvres. Pakistan will celebrate National Day on March 23 after a one-year gap amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Last year’s parade was cancelled due to the coronavirus spread. This year, Airport Security Force (ASF) will also attend the Pakistan Day military parade for the first time.
Pakistan Day is observed to commemorate the passage of the Lahore Resolution on this day in 1940, under which the Muslims of the sub-continent set the agenda for achieving a separate homeland. The ASF, which is responsible for the security of the airports across the country, will attend the military parade on Pakistan Day and show their professional skills. Director General (DG) ASF Major General Zafarul Haq will also participate in the parade as 200 personnel of the force were involved in the rehearsals ahead of the event.
The Pakistan Army’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) had also released a new promo in connection with Pakistan Day celebrations.
