KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, has urged the government to take practi-cal steps for the liberation of occupied Kashmir, stressing that the party will stand by the people of Kashmir until their freedom is achieved.
In a statement issued by the Jamaat-e-Islami’s Media and Publication Department, Hafiz Naeem re-marked that resolving the issues faced by the free regions of Kashmir is the responsibility of the ruling authorities. He emphasised that Jamaat-e-Islami has consistently struggled for the resolution of issues in Azad Kashmir.
“Jamaat-e-Islami has always fought for the rights of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan, and on the Kashmir issue, we have consistently raised awareness and will continue to do so,” Hafiz Naeem said.
He further stressed the need to empower the free regions of the state, turning them into the true base of the Kashmir freedom movement. “The free regions of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan should be made powerful and capable, as they are the real base for the Kashmir freedom movement,” he said.
Hafiz Naeem also urged both federal and provincial governments to refrain from interfering in the up-coming elections in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, calling for a fair and transparent electoral pro-cess.
