NANCHANG: East China’s Jiangxi Province reported its first imported case of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) Sunday.
The provincial health commission said the patient took flight CA982 from New York and landed in Beijing on Friday, before taking a connecting flight of CA1577 to the provincial capital of Nanchang.
The passenger was in good condition at the airport and was put under concentrated observation immediately after deplaning according quarantine rules. The patient, however, showed symptoms of fever in the early hours of Saturday and was later confirmed to have been infected with the COVID-19. – Agencies
