CHANGCHUN: The last five impoverished counties in northeast China’s Jilin Province have bid farewell to poverty, according to a notice issued by the provincial government. The counties of Wangqing, Tongyu, Jingyu and Antu and the county-level city of Da’an have met the standards and have been approved to be removed from the list of poverty-stricken counties, a feat achieved by all eight impoverished counties in the province. Zhenlai County and the county-level cities of Helong and Longjing cast off poverty in April last year. – Agencies
