Manchester: English fast bowler Jofra Archer will be available to play in third and final Test against the West Indies after being ruled out of the second match for breaching bio-secure protocols.
England dropped Archer from the team for the second test against West Indies, announcing the decision hours before the start of the match at Old Trafford on Thursday.
A disciplinary hearing chaired by ECB managing director Ashley Giles which included Archer’s agent and a representative from the Professional Cricketers’ Association (PCA) on Friday decided an undisclosed fine and a written warning.
“Following a disciplinary hearing held on Friday evening, 17 July, Archer has been fined an undisclosed amount and received an official written warning after admitting to breaching the team’s bio-secure protocols on Monday 13 July when he made an unauthorized visit to his home in Hove,” the English and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said in a statement.
It must be noted that Archer is currently in isolation and will undergo two COVID-19 Tests which must be negative before his isolation is lifted.
