ISLAMABAD: A joint initiative by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), International Organization for Migration (IOM), Department of Health and International Medical Corps has provided integrated healthcare services to 194 women in Phandu and Pakha Ghulam through four outreach campaigns.
The initiative aimed to improve access to maternal, reproductive and primary healthcare services for women in underserved communities by bringing essential medical support closer to their homes.
The outreach campaigns offered primary healthcare, reproductive health services, mental health and psychosocial support, nutrition screening, and referrals for emergency obstetric and newborn care.
The partnership sought to strengthen continuity of care and expand access to essential and life-saving health services, particularly for women facing barriers to healthcare access.
The initiative reflects the importance of coordinated efforts among humanitarian organisations and health authorities in improving healthcare access and addressing the needs of vulnerable communities.
