ISLAMABAD: To explore sectoral opportunities under the umbrella of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in Sindh, Board of Investment (BOI) Pakistan is going to organize the “CPEC B2B Industrial Cooperation Investment Conference” next month in Karachi.
According to BOI, the area of focus would be Information Technology, Special Economic Zones (SEZs), pharmaceuticals, textiles, urban development, and automobiles. The B2B Conference will provide opportunities to all investors seeking foreign JV partners.
Karachi will be hosting the B2B conference; the last CPEC Industrial Cooperation B2B Investment Conference was organized in Lahore in December 2021.
“After the signing of the Framework Agreement on Industrial Cooperation, a world of business opportunities has opened where Pakistani enterprises can leverage technical and financial cooperation through joint ventures with Chinese businesses,” according to Chairman BOI Muhammad Azfar Ahsan.
“China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Industrial Cooperation Enterprise-to-Business B2B Investment Portal” is a platform for investors to enter JVs. The China Council for International Investment Promotion and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Industrial Cooperation of the Investment Committee of the Prime Minister’s Office of Pakistan have jointly established the portal. The portal aims at promoting and strengthening relations between Pakistani and Chinese companies.
Anyone interested in investment in Pakistan can find potential partners in the country either to expand and transfer business or to set up factories in SEZs. The portal also helps the investors register for the B2B conference.
