Kawish felicitates newly elected Press Club Ghazi officials

ISLAMABAD: Kawish felicitated newly elected office bearers of Press Club Ghazi who sworn in here this Sunday. Hamid Mir Administered the oath (Ghazi Tarbela). The newly elected office-bearers of the Press Cub Ghazi on Friday took oath of their offices. Senior journalist and anchor Hamid Meer administered oath to the newly-elected office-bearers of the club at a dignified ceremony held here at the Naz banquet hall Ghazi. Former Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtoon Kha Senator Sabir Shah blessed the event as Chief guest, while prominent artist Qazi Arif Mehmood, Ali Raza; General secretary National Press Club Islamabad, Hafiz javid Ul Haq; Bureau Chief Pine were the others among the guests of honor. Galaxy of intellectuals, academia, politicians, representative of political parties, bar council’s members, elders and rich number of district journalists were present on the occasion as well.The newly-elected office-bearers includeding Haji Abid Ali Khan, Zahid Iqbal Awan, Shokat Zaman, Hamid zaman, Syed Bagh Hussain Shah, Khawar Rasheed Mughal, Tariq Nawaz, Salamat shah, Waqalat Shah, Bashir Awan, Azhar Nadeem, Khawas baig, Ibrar Khan Tahir Khili, Toheed Khan, Imtiaz Afzal, Liaqat Zaman. On behalf of the Kawish Welfare Society, Chairman Riasat Ali in his congratulatory message paid a wholehearted facilitation to the Press Club Ghazi members and extended goodwill for their future endeavoring as well. He hoped that Press Club’s officials will uphold the dignity and supremacy of the pen as usual and assured Kawish’s round the clock cooperation with the Club in future too.
Speaking on the occasion, the Senator Sabir Shah congratulated the Press Club’s members on their swearing-in and vowed to extend his utmost efforts to apprise General Manager Tarbela to allocate funds for the construction of the press club’s building. He mildly criticized the anti-Islamic policies of the government but lauded the efforts of Federal Minister Omer Ayub Khan and Speaker NA Assad Qaiser for making their hectic efforts for Ghazi-Faqeer Abad road dual way construction. Senator urged the club to enhance professional journalism, highlight issues for instant solution and for the eradication of social abuses from the society. He lamented that positive criticism always be welcomed by him. In his address prominent anchor Hamid Meer greeted the newly elected office bears and said that it is one of the core obligations of journalists to convey the right information and an accurate picture of the scene to the masses. He thanked press club Ghazi for their keenness to invite him to administer the oath.Abid Ali Khan, Qazi Asif Mehmood, Syed Akhtar Hussain Shah, Aslam Hayat Khan, Zahid Iqbal and others also addressed the audience.At the conclusion of the ceremony mementos were confer upon the Chief Guest, guests of honor and Press club’s officials and a rich tribute with a lifetime achievement certificate was awarded to late Afzal Hussain for introducing and promoting investigative journalism in Tehsil Ghazi, his son Abrash Hussain Khan received the award on his behalf, while Ilyas Khan (Late) contribution was also recalled on the occasion.–PR
