AKTAU: In difficult weather and climatic conditions, the crew of the Sarbaz frontier ship of the Aktau Division of border ships and boats of the KNB Border Guard Service Department in Mangystau region under the command of captain of the third rank A.K. Akhmetchan carried out an operation to rescue a Turkish citizen from the Akademik Hasan ferry Aliyev “of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the area of the Kenderlinskaya Bay, Kazinform MIA reports with reference to the message of the KNB press service on Instagram .
The signal for help “SOS” came from the commander of the Azerbaijani ship on the radio. The Consular Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Aktau confirmed the fact of a critical situation.
The patient’s condition was assessed as severe, and a preliminary diagnosis of acute appendicitis was made. The maritime border guards, having received the message, immediately moved towards the ferry, while they had to move with a wave of more than 2 meters and a strong headwind. For 4 hours, the crew of the border ship could not moor to the ship and pick up the patient. The commander of the ship made a risky decision to reload the patient on the board boat of the border ship “Sarbaz”.
Due to the remoteness of hydraulic structures and the impossibility of mooring in the port of Kuryk, the crew of the onboard boat headed by Lieutenant Iksatov Zh.Zh. together with the sick passenger, he was forced to make a non-standard decision to move along the shortest path and exit to an unequipped shore.
The crew of the boat completed this task in stormy conditions within an hour. On the shore of the patient were already waiting for the servicemen of the border department “Kenderli” and emergency doctors. In total, the rescue operation lasted for 6 hours. In the city hospital of the city of Zhanaozen, the patient was diagnosed with “perforated stomach ulcer” and an urgent operation was performed.
Thanks to the skillful and decisive actions of the border guards, the medical assistance provided, the life of a foreign citizen was saved.
The Consulate of the Republic of Azerbaijan expressed gratitude to the Kazakh border guards for their timely and skillful actions and the rescue of the passenger. –Agenceis
