Key accused in robbery, murder cases busted: SSP Ops

ISLAMABAD: SSP Operations/Investigation Islamabad, Muhammad Arsalan Shahzaib, alongside senior police officers held a press conference at the Rescue-15 office.
During the press conference, he said that in recent days, four armed accused committed a robbery at a mobile shop within the jurisdiction of Secretariat police station. Similarly, an elderly man was found dead with his throat slit in the premises of Bhara Kahu Police Station.

IGP Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, took strict notice of these incidents and formed special police teams under the supervision of DIG Islamabad, Syed Ali Raza, led by SSP Operations/Investigation.
These teams worked tirelessly and, using modern investigative methods, tracked down and arrested the four accused involved in the Bari Imam market mobile shop robbery within the timeframe of just 48 hours.
The arrested accused were identified as Faisal, Shabbir, Ghulam Abbas, and Muhammad Faraz. The police team recovered weapons used in the crime, including a Kalashnikov, one 55 bore rifle, an M-16 style pistol, two 30 bore pistols, and both motorcycles used in the robbery.
Moreover, the stolen money was also recovered. Further investigations revealed information about additional crimes committed by these accused, and legal action is ongoing. He further said that, on November 3, 2024, the body of an elderly man was found with his throat slit in the jurisdiction of Bhara Kahu area.
Upon receiving the information, police immediately began efforts to arrest those responsible for this blind murder, utilizing human and technical resources. The police team arrested two accused namely Amanullah and Riasat Abbasi, who confessed to killing the elderly man in an attempt to seize his money before fleeing the scene.
SSP Operations/Investigation emphasized that Islamabad Police are dedicated to ensuring the safety of citizens’ lives and property, and that crime rates in Islamabad have shown a clear decline. The force remains committed to further improving security in the city.
