ISLAMABAD: The Court of Islamabad Judicial Magistrate ordered cancellation of FIR against Pakistan Red Crescent Society then secretary general Khalid bin Majeed in a case related to death of NUML student Kainat Tariq, who was also a part-time employee at the PRCS. In the verdict, Judicial Magistrate Sec-30 (West) Waqar Hussain Gondal said that police could not find any incriminating evidence against the accused and hence had itself filed an FIR cancellation I do agree with the police opinion,” the judge maintained in the verdict.
The I-9 Industrial Area Police had registered a murder case on the complaint of Muhammad Tariq, father of deceased Kainat Tariq, who in his written application in November last year had alleged that his daughter did not commit suicide but she had been murdered by the then secretary general of PRCS through poisoning. After registering the FIR under Section 302 of the CrPC based on the charges leveled by father of the deceased, the I-9 police had arrested Khalid bin Majeed for investigation.
However, he was granted bail by the court just two weeks after the arrest since no incriminating evidence of his involvement in the case could be found despite a rigorous investigation by different units of police department.
Two suspects confess
to rape, murder of minor
RAWALPINDI: In a major development in a nine-year-old Zainab murder and rape case in Jhanda Chechi, Rawalpindi, police on Friday claimed to have three suspects including a woman in the case. On March 23, Zainab was found murdered after being sexually assaulted in Rawalpindi with her body being recovered from the neighbouring home. Suspects namely, Babar Maseh, his wife and Adnan were taken into custody by the police in a rape and murder case after legal formalities.
Babar Maseh and Adnan have confessed to their crime of raping the minor. Meanwhile, CPO Ahsan Younis along with the SSP Investigations reached the house of Zainab and met her father. The police officials apprised Zainab’s father about the proceedings in the case, who expressed satisfaction over the so far progress made in the case. It is to be mentioned here that IGP Punjab had taken notice of the rape and murder incident and sought a complete report regarding it from the RPO Rawalpindi besides also directing strict action against the suspect.
10 held, snatched valuables, arms recovered
ISLAMABAD: Capital Cops arrested 10 outlaws including four members of a criminal gang and recovered snatched cash, mobile phone stolen motorbike, narcotic and weapons from them. He said that SSP Operations Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer had issued directions to all zonal officers for renewed efforts against those involved in anti-social activities. Following these directives, SP Rural Zone Rana Abdul Wahab constituted police team under the supervision of ASP Usman Munair including SHO Khanna Police station Sub-Inspector Kamal Khan along with others. This team succeeded to arrest two members of a dacoit gang identified as Fida Hussain and Ata-Ullah and recovered snatched cash, mobile phone and weapons along with ammunition from their possession. During the interrogation the gangsters confessed their involved in snatching incidents in areas of Khanna police. Cases have been registered against the nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them Moreover SP Industrial Area Liaqat Hayat Niazi constituted police team under the supervision of DSP Mubarik Ali including SHO Noon Police Station Sub-Inspector Ishtiaq Hussain Shah along with others apprehended two members identified as Muhammad Akash and Maqsood and recovered stolen motorbike from their possession. Case has been registered against them and further investigation is underway from them. Furthermore Lohibher police arrested accused Khalid Mehmood and recovered 1.320 kilogram hashish from him. Golra police arrested accused Zaheer Abbass and recovered one 30 bore pistol from him. Kohsar police arrested accused Jamas Messih and recovered one 30 bore pistol from him. Shahzad Town police arrested accused Junaid Malik and recovered 115 gram hashish from him.Bhara Kahu police arrested two accused Imran and Imran Pervez violating section 144.
Separate cases have been registered against the nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them. SSP Operations Dr.Syed Mustafa Tanveer has appreciated this performance of police teams.
