RAWALPINDI: Caretaker Federal Minister for Human Rights Khalil George on Monday urged the Christian community to come together for the safety and prosperity of the country while highlighting that they constitute a significant part of the nation. Speaking at the session titled “Prayer for Peace Festival Pakistan” held here at Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC), the minister said the nation urgently needed peace, harmony, and brotherhood in our ranks, regardless of caste, race, or colour.
Khalil George emphasized that the prayers were not born out of animosity but love, stating, “We seek to win with love, not revenge against our enemies.” He acknowledged the unwavering support of the Pakistan Army, government, and security forces for the Christian community.
With reference to the Jaranwala incident, he pointed out the power of love, saying, “You showed love even to your enemies.” Khalil George said the Christian community always raised the flag of Pakistan high. He underlined the unity between the judiciary, armed forces, and every conscious individual standing by the Christian community.
The minister said, “No one can break the love between Christians and Pakistan.” He concluded by stating that in this country, they can freely proclaim the name of the Lord, with Jesus Christ as their leader. He also mentioned the upcoming event on March 23, where they intend to fill Minar-e-Pakistan with the Christians.
He urged that no adversity should trouble the Christian community and that their prayers be dedicated to the beloved homeland.
