ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police team from Khanna police station apprehended three members of an organized criminal gang wanted in several snatching activities. The arrested accused were identified as Arif, Israr, and Ishrat. Cases have already been registered against them. Police team also recovered weapons with ammunition and a motorcycle used in the crimes from their possession.
During preliminary investigation, the arrested accused confessed to committing multiple robberies in the areas of Khanna police station and adjoining localities. Further investigation is ongoing.
Following the special directives of IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Islamabad Police has launched a large-scale crackdown across the federal capital against accused involved in dacoity, snatching, and other serious crimes. As a result, there has been a significant decline in major criminal incidents. Issuing directions to all officers, the IGP Islamabad emphasized that strict action must continue against those who deprive citizens of their valuable belongings.
He urged the public to cooperate with the police and immediately report any suspicious activity or object to the nearest police station or emergency helpline “Pucar-15.”
