ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Tuesday said that hard work and hard decisions will be required to bring power and petroleum prices down.
Talking to media outside the judicial complex former prime minister said that previous 16 months government was a failure. “Unfortunately, the PML-N government has shortage of talent,” former PML-N leader said. “We pray, may Allah guide them to the right path,” Abbasid said.
He said Iran is a neighboring country our relations should be improved. “The gas pipeline has not been a political issue, it has been a legal matter, ministers should avoid to issue statements over it”.
Talking on NAB cases, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said, “We will be entitled for pension from the NAB in next two to three years. A person entitles for pension in 18 years, while 17 years have been completed,” he said.
Earlier, Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Tuesday asked the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) government to take tough decisions.
Speaking to the media outside the judicial complex in Islamabad, Abbasi said: “Before the incumbent government, there was a failed government power. We will pray for the guidance of the rulers.”
In connection with the Iranian president’s visit to Pakistan, Abbasi said: “Iran is our neighbouring country. There is a dire need to further boost the ties between the two countries.”
Earlier this month, it was reported that Abbasi had formally parted ways with PML-N forever as he had approached the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for the registration of his new political party.
Abbasi had himself reached the ECP headquarters in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) and submitted the information to the ECP for the registration of his party.
He said that he has provided the required documents to the election regulator for registration.
Earlier, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, former prime minister and prominent figure in the PML-N, has approached the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to register a new political party.
Abbasi visited the ECP office in Islamabad on Monday, where he submitted an application for the registration of the new political entity. Alongside the application, he provided all necessary documents required for the registration process.
“We are initiating the party’s registration in accordance with the Election Act of 2017. We intend to actively participate in the upcoming elections under the banner of this new party,” he stated.
He also mentioned that the party’s nam Abbasi had previously hinted at the formation of a new party due to his differences with the top leadership of the PML-N. He had also suggested the emergence of a new political entity following the nationwide polls held on February 8. –Agencies
