Khawaja Asif says Imran must answer on North Waziristan clash

ISLAMABAD: Former defence minister Khawaja Asif said that Prime Minister Imran Khan, Interior Minister Ijaz Shah and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan should give answers on the unfortunate North Waziristan incident.

Three people were killed and five soldiers were injured in a clash between security forces and Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) protesters as a group led by Mohsin Javed and Ali Wazir assaulted Kharqamar check post, Boyya, North Waziristan tribal district, said ISPR.

Asif while addressing the assembly said that its being reported one of the member has been arrested while the second is at large. “We have to take this matter seriously. We have given serious sacrifices. We never gave priority to erstwhile FATA in the past.”

Asif said that the premier must constitute a probe committee including members of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa legislators so that all can play role to resolve their crisis.

Asif called Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf as the most bankrupt party in the country’s history, adding that members of the treasury are ready to change the leader of the house. “I won’t name them but people here know them very well including the speaker,” he said.

Asif demanded a special parliamentary committee should be constituted to probe the NAB Chairman’s scandal so that the matters become clear before the public.
