Kidnapper caught, 4-year old boy recovered: SSP Ops

ISLAMABAD: SSP Operations/Investigation Islamabad, Muhammad Arsalan Shahzaib, alongside senior police officers held a press conference at the Rescue-15 office.
During the press conference, he said that on December 29, 2024, the complainant Muhammad Kashif lodged a written application at Tarnol Police Station stating that his 4-year-old son, namely Abu Bakr, had gone outside and was kidnapped by unknown accused.
The Tarnol Police immediately registered an FIR no. 364A PPC and began legal proceedings. Meanwhile, the IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi took immediate notice of the abduction and issued orders for the child’s safe recovery.

As a result, the DIG Islamabad, Syed Ali Raza, formed various police teams under the supervision of SSP Operations/Investigation, including SP Saddar Khan Zeb, SHOs of Tarnol and Sumbal police stations, and others.
The kidnappers demanded a ransom of Rs 5 million after abducting the minor child and threatened to kill him if the ransom was not paid. The police teams conducted searches within the crime scene area, carried out raids in various areas of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, and gathered the records of accused involved in similar incidents.
Additionally, using modern technology and human intelligence, the police teams were able to trace the accused. In a secure operation, the police arrested the main accused, Akhtar Nawaz, and recovered the abducted child, Abu Bakr, without any ransom being paid.
Police teams are actively working to arrest the accomplice, who will be apprehended soon. During the initial investigation, the accused revealed that he, along with accomplices, had kidnapped the child for ransom.
The police team safely handed over the child to his parents. The parents expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Islamabad Police and praised their efforts.
Moreover, IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi appreciated the police teams’ performance and announced cash rewards and commendation certificates for their outstanding efforts.
