ABU DHABI: President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a message of congratulations to King Abdullah II of Jordan on the occasion of the centenary of the Kingdom’s founding, which falls on 11th April.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, also sent similar messages to the Jordanian King.
Meanwhile, celebrating the centenary of the establishment of the Jordanian state, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi gave on Sunday a speech in which he emphasized that “the strategic unified vision is capable of facing any challenges.”
President Sisi congratulated Jordanian King Abdullah II and the Jordanian people for the centenary of establishing Jordan, saying “It is my honor and pleasure to join with His Majesty King Abdullah II and the Jordanian people to celebrate the centennial of the establishment of the Jordanian state.
“This anniversary represents an opportunity to renew our commitment to our brotherly peoples through promoting the joint action, coordinating efforts, enhancing the relations between the two countries, and jointly seeking to explore more fruitful opportunities for security, stability, prosperity, peace, and development,” President Sisi said.
“We do remember the pivotal role of Jordan in the Arab and Islamic arenas, and how it supported the Palestinian people for their just cause. We also remember Jordan’s permanent standing by Egypt and its support for the issues that affect it, based on the historic and close relations,” the president added.
During a phone call made on April 5, 2021, , Sisi said that Egypt is backing Jourdan’s people and government along with all needed decisions to maintain the Kingdom security, following the Jordanian kingdom arrested around 20 people, including Sharif Hassan bin Zaid, a member of the royal family, and former finance minister Bassem Awadallah in a plot to unseat King Abdullah II.
From his part, King Abdullah II praised Sisi’s support, saying that his statements reflect the deep-rooted, strong, and historic ties between both countries and their peoples, according to Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady. Egypt voiced full support to Jordan and the Jordanian king in preserving the security and stability of the kingdom, Radi said in a statement, after Jordan arrested high-profile figures for “security reasons”.
