Bishkek: Foreign Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev and Kuwait Ahmad Nasser Al Sabah held a videoconference on Nov. 30, the press service of the Foreign Ministry reported.
During the videoconference, the sides exchanged views on topical issues of the regional and international agenda, and also confirmed their readiness to continue constant contacts on all issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation. Minister Kazakbaev informed his counterpart about the stabilization of the internal political situation in the country, preparations for holding early presidential elections, as well as the upcoming parliamentary elections and constitutional reform. In turn, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait, Ahmad Nasser Al Sabah conveyed greetings from the Emir of Kuwait to the new leadership of the Kyrgyz Republic and wished success in carrying out democratic reforms in the country, confirming the continuity of all previously reached agreements by the government of Kuwait. At the same time, the foreign minister of Kuwait especially noted the results of the successful activities of the Kyrgyz Embassy in Kuwait and the intentions to open the Kuwait embassy in Bishkek, interest in exchanging visits at various levels and deepening interdepartmental cooperation. The sides also touched upon the parties’ long-term plans for the further development of bilateral cooperation, where such areas as health, education, agriculture, credit and investment spheres, etc. were identified as priorities. In particular, the ministers agreed on the need to create a joint commission on the development of a “road map” for further cooperation, a joint investment fund and other issues.
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic expressed gratitude to the Kuwaiti side for the humanitarian assistance provided in the fight against COVID-19 and the activities of Kuwaiti charities in Kyrgyzstan, welcoming the intention of the Kuwaiti government to continue humanitarian cooperation with the Kyrgyz Republic. – PNP
