Kyrgyz, Azerbaijani FMs hold talks

Bishkek: The telephone conversation of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev with head of the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov took place.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, during the conversation, the ministers highly appreciated the current state of Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani relations and expressed their intentions to mutually continue their development in all directions.
Bayramov informed about the current development of the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh, including the current state of implementation of the trilateral statement on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. In turn, Kazakbaev welcomed the agreements reached on a complete ceasefire and all hostilities in the Nagorno-Karabakh zone, as well as the Statement, signed on November 10, 2020 by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia. Kazakbaev also stressed the importance of resolving conflicts only by peaceful means and diplomatic methods on the basis of generally accepted principles and norms of international law.
Kazakbaev also briefly informed about the current dynamics of the internal political situation in the country. He added that on January 10, 2021, early presidential elections and a referendum on the form of government in the country will be held.
The sides discussed in detail the topical issues of the bilateral agenda, including the events planned for 2021.
