Kyrgyz FM discusses migrants issues in Russia

Bishkek: Problems of women in labor migration and the socialization of migrant children were discussed in Russia’s Yekaterinburg, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported.
The Second “Women’s Migration. Socialization of Migrant Children” International Conference was held on Mar.4, 2020. The forum, organized by the Consulate General of Kyrgyzstan in the city of Yekaterinburg and the Kyrgyzstan-Ural Sverdlovsk regional public organization, was devoted to the problems of women in labor migration, their legal protection and integration into the local community. Also within the framework of this meeting, topical issues and particularities in obtaining school education and socialization of workers’ children were discussed.
Senior officials from the relevant state bodies of the Sverdlovsk Oblast and Yekaterinburg, representatives of Kyrgyzstan’s State Migration Service, public and diaspora organizations, heads of offices of the International Organization for Migration in Moscow and Bishkek, Russian and Kyrgyz experts, including those who arrived from cities in Russia and Kyrgyzstan, as well as other interested parties participated in the Conference.
Ruslan Biybosunov, Consul General of Kyrgyzstan, noted the issues being considered at the conference are also relevant for the Russian Federation, both as a host country for workers and as a country of labour exodus to which Kyrgyzstan belongs. –Agencies
