Kyrgyz FM participates in CIS ministerial meeting in Moscow

MOSCOW: Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev took part in a regular meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS member states, which took place on April 2, 2021 in Moscow.
The press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said that within the framework of the meeting, an exchange of views took place on topical international and regional problems, as well as the further development of cooperation within the Commonwealth in various areas, including in the fight against the spread of coronavirus infection in the CIS space.
The foreign ministers approved action plans for the implementation of the Strategy for Cooperation of the CIS Member States in the Field of Physical Culture and Sports for 2021-2030, the Strategy for International Youth Cooperation of the CIS Member States for 2021-2030, as well as the Strategy for Cooperation of the CIS Member States in the Field of Tourism for 2021-2030.
In addition, the heads of the foreign ministries approved a number of documents that will be submitted for approval during the upcoming meetings of the Council of Heads of State and the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS.
In his speech, Minister Kazakbaev noted that this year is under the sign of the 30th anniversary of the formation of the CIS and assured that the Kyrgyz Republic is ready to continue to contribute to the preservation of the positive experience of interaction between the Commonwealth member states and the development of multilateral integration.
Stressing the urgency of making efforts to minimize the consequences of the pandemic, Kazakbaev called for the joint maintenance of the pace of mutual trade and the provision of unhindered transit of cargo, the resumption of regular flights and the creation of conditions for the free movement of labor in the Commonwealth.
The next meeting of the Council of CIS Foreign Ministers is planned to be held on October 14, 2021 in Minsk, Belarus.
Meanwhile, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Kazakbaev met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergei Lavrov in Moscow within the framework of a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS member states.
The press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said that during the conversation, the two ministers discussed the implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level following the results of the first foreign visit of President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov to Russia.
