Kyrgyz President discusses country’s security arrangements

BISHKEK: Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov is holding a meeting of the country’s Security Council with the participation of heads of state bodies, governors, mayors of the Bishkek and Osh cities, his press service reported.
The issue of measures for preparation and holding of parliamentary elections on Oct. 4, 2020 is considered at the Security Council’s meeting. Chairwoman of the Central Commission for Elections and Referendum of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurzhan Shaildabekova and Prime Minister Kubatbek Boronov are reporting on preparatory work for the elections amid coronavirus infection pandemic. Meanwhile, President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov, on behalf of the people of Kyrgyzstan and on his own behalf, congratulated the head of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the Uzbek people on the Independence Day of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the press service of the Kyrgyz President said. “I would like to note that under your leadership, the position of Uzbekistan in the region and around the world has been significantly strengthened, and large-scale reforms carried out within the country are yielding positive results. I am deeply convinced that with your support, the relations of friendship and good-neighborliness, based on the principles of mutually beneficial cooperation and strategic partnership, will continue to dynamically strengthen for the sake of a bright future for the two peoples,” the congratulatory telegram says. Sooronbay Jeenbekov wished Shavkat Mirziyoyev good health, happiness, success in his work, and peace and prosperity to the brotherly Uzbek people.–Agencies
