Bishkek: Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov arrived Monday in Hungary for official visit, his press service reported.
A Guard of Honor was lined up on the flying field of Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport and a red carpet was laid out. The Kyrgyz leader was met by Deputy Prime Minister of Hungary Mikhail Varga.
In the framework of the official visit, Sooronbay Jeenbekov will hold bilateral talks with Hungarian PM Viktor Orban. They will sign a joint declaration between Kyrgyzstan and Hungary on strategic partnership.
The two leaders will jointly visit the European office of the Turkic Council in Budapest.
The visit will include signing of the Memorandum on the Establishment of the Kyrgyz-Hungarian Development Fund and other documents on bilateral cooperation.
The delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic will attend ceremony of assignment of a name Chyngyz Aitmatov by a square.
As part of the official visit, Jeenbekov will also meet with President of Hungary János Áder and Speaker of the National Assembly László Kövér.
On Sept. 28, President Sooronbay Jeenbekov met with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Sochi.
The delegation of Kyrgyzstan consists of: Minister of Foreign Affairs Chingiz Aidarbekov, Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Kyrgyz President’s Office Daniyar Sydykov, Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Hungary Bakyt Dzhusupov, Deputy Prime Minister Erkin Asrandiyev, Minister of Education and Science Kanybek Isakov, Minister of Agriculture, Food Industry and Reclamation Erkinbek Choduyev, Minister of Transport and Roads Janat Beishenov, Minister of Finance Baktygul Jeenbayeva and Minister of Economy Sanjar Mukambetov.
Meanwhile, As part of his official visit to Hungary, President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov laid a wreath on Heroes’ Square in Budapest.
According to the press service of the Kyrgyz president, the ceremony was held with the participation of the Guard of Honor, accompanied by a military band. Jeenbekov honored the memory of outstanding Hungarian figures and personalities who had contributed to the formation of the Hungarian statehood.
Heroes’ Square is one of the main squares of Budapest, which is a part of UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the center of the Square is the Millennium Monument with Archangel Gabriel at its top and 7 Magyar leaders on the pedestal dedicated to the Hungarians’ acquisition of their homeland and foundation of the Hungarian kingdom, as well as 2 colonnades with sculptures of outstanding Hungarian figures. A memorial plaque in honor of Hungarian heroes is installed in front of the memorial.
