Bishkek: President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov held an online meeting with Prime Minister of the country Kubatbek Boronov.
The current epidemiological situation in the country, issues of socio-economic development of the republic, opening of external borders, preparation for the autumn-winter period and the new academic year were discussed, the president’s press service said. The head of government provided information on preparations for the gradual lifting of quarantine measures, on the progress of negotiations with foreign countries on the resumption of transport communications on a parity basis. The prime minister also noted that the country’s airports are ready to serve passengers around the clock in compliance with sanitary and hygienic standards.
The President stressed that when opening borders, it is necessary to take into account the epidemiological situation in foreign countries, in some of which the pandemic is not abating. He urged to continue to work to inform the citizens of Kyrgyzstan about the importance of self-discipline and compliance with all sanitary standards, despite the improvement in the epidemiological situation in the country.
Following the results of his working trips to the regions, the head of state also noted with satisfaction the work of financial institutions, including the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund, in providing concessional loans to enterprises exporting their products. He drew attention to the strengthening of control over the implementation of the Sanarip Aimak project and the integration of state structures into the Tunduk system of interdepartmental electronic interaction.
Sooronbay Jeenbekov urged the government to intensify work on projects based on public-private partnerships, and once again emphasized the importance of timely preparation for the autumn-winter period, as soon as possible completion of the repair of emergency hospitals and schools in the regions.

Today, Aug. 22, in his regular interview with Birinchi Radio of the Public Broadcasting Corporation, the Kyrgyz leader spoke about the results of his recent trips to the regions of the country and meetings with local residents.
“The villagers are busy harvesting, working in the fields. First of all, they are concerned about irrigation water, drinking water, there are many appeals on this problem, as well as issues with the security of schools and hospitals,” Jeenbekov noted.
