Bishkek: The Biodiversity Summit in New York will feature a speech by President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov.
According to the press service of the Kyrgyz president, in his address Jeenbekov will note an important part of the foreign policy of the Kyrgyz Republic, which is promotion of “ecological” diplomacy and green economy.
The Kyrgyz leader will outline the contribution of the Kyrgyz Republic to the development of international cooperation in the field of environmental protection.
The speech of Sooronbay Jeenbekov is expected on the night of Oct. 1.
On Sept. 21 and 23, at the 75th session of the UN General Assembly, President Sooronbay Jeenbekov addressed international donors and financial institutions with an initiative to deeply restructure the country’s foreign debt in exchange for sustainable development projects.
At the same time, he noted that the Kyrgyz Republic supports the efforts of UN Secretary General António Guterres to reform the Organization. Kyrgyzstan has also put forward its candidacy to the Human Rights Council and non-permanent members of the UN Security Council for the coming periods.
Meanwhile, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov congratulated Kyrgyzstanis on the International Day of Older Persons, his press service said.
Congratulating on the international holiday, the Kyrgyz leader noted that respect for the older generation, respect for the elderly has been for Kyrgyz people a norm of life for centuries.
“Not only on this day, but also forever, respect for older people, comprehensive support, warm attitude towards every older person should be commonplace in our society.
The rich life experience and deep wisdom of the older generation serve as a good lesson for our youth,” Jeenbekov added.
Expressing his gratitude to older persons for preserving spiritual treasures, noble qualities and cultural riches of Kyrgyz people and passing them to the younger generation, President Sooronbay Jeenbekov wish them good health, vivacity of spirit and well-being.–Agencies
