Bishkek: A Kyrgyz-Hungarian Development Fund with a capital of EUR 50 million will be created, President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov said in an interview with state radio.
Sooronbay Jeenbekov noted that Kyrgyz-Hungarian relations are now reaching a new level, the countries have common historical roots.
He spoke in detail about the planned events within the framework of his official visit to Hungary, which will take place on Sept. 28-29.
The President recalled the official visit of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban to Kyrgyzstan in 2018. Then he took part in the summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking states and in the opening of the Third World Nomad Games.
Then the visit is resulted in increasing quota for Kyrgyz students in Hungarian universities, opening the Hungarian embassy in Bishkek. In addition, in September 2019, the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was held in Bishkek.
Now the Kyrgyz President will pay an official visit to Hungary at the invitation of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
“At the invitation of the Hungarian side, we planned a visit in the spring. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the dates have shifted and now we intend to visit at the end of September,” Jeenbekov said expressing hope that his forthcoming visit will be fruitful and they sign a number of cooperation documents.
“The most important of them is the signing of a joint Declaration on Strategic Cooperation. We will also sign agreements in the spheres of health care, prevention of emergencies, trade and economic cooperation, water resources management and other areas of mutual interest,” said President Jeenbekov.
Meanwhile, Hungary will be the first European country with which Kyrgyzstan will sign a Joint Declaration on Strategic Cooperation, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov said.–Agencies
