Bishkek: President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov met with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the press service of the Kyrgyz president said. The two leaders discussed topical areas of bilateral cooperation, prospects for joint interaction on all issues of mutual interest.
Vladimir Putin noted that he was glad to see Sadyr Zhaparov, expressing satisfaction that despite the difficulties and restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic, they were able to meet and communicate in person.
Vladimir Putin once again congratulated Sadyr Zhaparov on taking office as president of Kyrgyzstan.
“Not only warm and close relations have been built between our countries, but allied and privileged ones. I am very glad that Russia takes the first place in trade and economic relations of Kyrgyzstan. We very much hope that you will be able to normalize the internal political situation in the country,” the Russian president said.
Vladimir Putin added that within the framework of Sadyr Zhaparov’s visit, a large agenda is envisaged, many events and meetings are planned at all levels, which will benefit the development of bilateral relations.
He also noted that Russia provided assistance in the fight against the pandemic, expressing satisfaction with the efforts of Kyrgyzstan to curb the spread of the infection. Putin also stressed that due to the pandemic, it was not possible to implement many of the Cross Year’s events and expressed confidence that with the stabilization of the epidemiological situation, everything will be made up, including in the humanitarian sector. “We will be happy to work in all areas. We hope that the measures you have conceived within the country, including the amendments to the Basic Law, will contribute to the stabilization in the republic and the progressive development of the state itself and the strengthening of our interstate ties,” the Russian president said.
Also, Vladimir Putin noted the particular importance of maintaining the status of the Russian language as an official language in Kyrgyzstan.
Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized that his first foreign visit as head of state proves the high level of bilateral relations between Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
“We intend to continue strengthening strategic partnership and allied relations,” Zhaparov said.
Sadyr Zhaparov expressed gratitude to Vladimir Putin for his personal support in the difficult political period in the country and assured that Kyrgyzstan will continue to comply with all agreements previously reached with Russia.
“We intend to further deepen our Eurasian integration within the EAEU, CIS, CSTO and SCO. This is the priority of the country’s foreign policy,” he said.
In addition, Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized the effectiveness and safety of the Russian vaccine, confirmed by the international community, and expressed hope for an early start of the vaccination campaign in Kyrgyzstan.
Sadyr Zhaparov, noting that Kyrgyzstan is always ready to cooperate with Russia, invited Vladimir Putin to pay an official visit to Kyrgyzstan. – Agencies
