Lhasa’s delivery couriers back in action

Lhasa: More express delivery operators are resuming operations in Lhasa, Tibet autonomous region, as the COVID-19 prevention situation in most parts of the city continues to improve, local media reported.
Express delivery operators such as Yuantong, Zhongtong and JD Logistics had suspended services in August because of the epidemic.
Implementing prevention and control measures, Yuantong Express Delivery resumed operations on Oct 28. The measures include disinfecting and sterilizing packages and vehicles every day, conducting nucleic acid tests, measuring body temperatures and wearing protective masks and suits.
“Our company had to hold eight trucks of packages due to the pandemic, and now we have finished the loading and sorting of nearly 90,000 packages,” Zhao Baohua, general manager of the Yuantong in Tibet, was quoted as saying by Lhasa Fabu, the official WeChat account of Lhasa.
The company has 31 business outlets in Lhasa, including 19 outlets located in the center of the city. Six of them have resumed operations, Zhao said.
“First, we will work hard to deliver all the backlogged packages, and we hope to deliver them all soon,” Zhao added.
