Malam Jabba witnesses first snowfall

SWAT: The first snowfall of the winter season has blanketed the mountains of Malam Jabba in Swat valley.
A large number of tourists from across the country have arrived in Malam Jabba to enjoy the stunning views. Visitors have been mesmerized by the beautiful landscapes and towering mountains.
Tourists have described the Malam Jabba valley as a part of paradise. Meanwhile, the Pakistan Met Office reported the Northern Areas in grip of severe cold. It recorded -08 degrees Celsius in Leh, -05 C in Skardu, -04 C in Astore, -03 C in Gupis and -02 in Kalam.
Dry weather prevailed ver most parts of the country, while cold in hilly areas during the last 24 hours. Smoggy condition prevailed in isolated plain areas of Punjab.

On the other hand, fter over three months of dry weather, the upper reaches of Neelam Valley in Azad Jammu and Kashmir were finally lashed with gentle snowfall starting late last night, bringing delight to residents and tourists. Tourist hotspots in the picturesque mountainous terrain witnessed varying degrees of light to moderate snowfall.
The popular snow-clad resorts in the scenic valley turned into playgrounds for tourists, who captured memorable moments and expressed their joy by playing in the snow. At the same time, occupied Srinagar and surrounding areas experienced intermittent light downpours, breaking the prolonged dry spell and bringing relief to locals. –Agencies
