ISLAMABAD: The authorities of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday nabbed a fraudster hurling threats at Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) officials while pretending to be an accountability watchdog official.
A case was also registered against the accused identified as Haroon on the request of Deputy Director NAB Aijaz Bashir at PS Aabpara.
According to the FIR, the accused pretended himself to be an official of NAB’s Intelligence Wing and threatened the OGDCL officials to trap them in cases if they fail to pay him a handsome amount. The accused, who lives in Mirpurkhas, was identified by NAB authorities as fake, on the complaint of the OGDCL officials and a legal action was launched against him.
Pickpocket held with Rs 1, 26,000
ISLAMABAD: PS Karachi company on Wednesday arrested a pickpocket red-handed and recovered Rs 1, 26,000 from him.
According to details, a team under the supervision of PS Karachi Company’s SHO Saleem Raza and ASI Haider Ali Shah, along with other personnel, apprehended accused Feroz Afghani, on the directives of SSP Saddar Umer Khan.
A case has been registered against the accused while further investigation is underway. DIG Operations Waqar-ud-Din Syed has appreciated the performance of the team.
POs among 18 held with arms, drugs
ISLAMABAD: Capital Cops, while operating against anti-social elements, arrested 18 criminals including proclaimed offenders, while recovering weapons, narcotics and other valuables, here on Wednesday.
According to details, in line with directives of IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfqar Khan, DIG Oerations Waqar-ud-Din Syed issued directions to all zonal officers, for renewed efforts against those involved in anti-social activities. Thus, following the instructions, PS Aabpara arrested accused Fahim Akram and recovered 107 gram heroin from him. PS Bara Kaho nabbed two accused namelly Farhail Abbasi and Usama Zahid and recovered two pistols from their possession. PS Bani Gala busted two accused Usman and Ejaz and recovered two 30 bore pistols from their possession while PS Karachi Company caught accused Farooz and recovered looted cash from him.
PS Tarnol nabbed accused Rizwan for having four 30 bore pistols. PS Noon apprehended accused Kashif and recovered one 30 bore illicit pistol from him. PS Koral arrested some Muhammad shakeel and recovered stolen laptop, mobile phone and wrist watch from him while the same cops also arrested a drug pusher namely Gul Hameed and recovered 1.050 kilogram hashish from him. Similarly, PS Khanna caught accused Kamran Kamal and recovered a 30-bore pistol from him.
Separate cases have been registered against the accused while further investigation is underway. Mreovrr, during special inspection across the city, cops also nabbed 07 proclaimed offenders at various police stations.
DIG Operations, Waqar-ud-din Syed said that the social evils would be curbed and those backing any drug peddlers and professional beggars would be dealt with iron hands. He further promised that this campaign would continue till elimination of anti-social elements at large.
