Karachi: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is waiting for the official decision of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) on Asia Cup 2020, chairman Ehsan Mani said.
While replying to Saurav Ganguly’s statement over Asia Cup cancellation this year due to COVID-19, Mani said nothing is confirmed until ACC releases official decision.
“We are still waiting for the ACC to come back to us,” said Mani while speaking to SportsStar from England.
“They are making inquiries about certain (things). Maybe, Sourav knows something that I don’t know. That’s possible. But we have not heard anything from the ACC, so I can’t comment on that,” the PCB chief added.
Remember, Ganguly had already said that the Asia Cup has been called off due to the current novel COVID-19. “Asia Cup has been canceled,” claimed Ganguly just a day before the scheduled ACC meeting on Thursday.
It must be noted here that Pakistan was to host the Asian event this September. The tournament was likely to take place at a neutral venue after India refused to travel neighbors due to political tensions among both countries.
