Massive fire destroys over 700 shops in H-9 weekly Bazaar

ISLAMABAD: July 10 – Vendors trying to save luggage at stalls after a horrific fire erupted in weekly bazaar in H-9 sector this morning. According to CDA as many as 300 stalls burnt to ashes in the incident. Luckily no causalities reported in the incident.

ISLAMABAD: A fire erupted in H-9 weekly bazaar, destroying more than 700 shops as the blaze erupted in the garment section and quickly spread, engulfing the whole market, causing widespread damage and financial loss to the shop owners.
The Emergency services, including 31 fire brigade vehicles and personnel, worked tirelessly to extinguish the flames after hours of effort, they managed to bring the situation under control.
The incident has prompted Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to launch an official inquiry.
He has directed to submit detailed reports from the Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Islamabad Chief Commissioner.
The aftermath of the fire has left hundreds of vendors grappling with the loss of their life savings invested in their shops.
The community is reeling from the impact, with calls for better safety measures to prevent such devastating incidents in the future.
A vendor namely Ahsan Khan demanded the government to provide financial assistance as they have to bear a huge financial loss due to the fire.
