——— Man kills colleague, commits suicide

ISLAMABAD: In the jurisdiction of Humak Police Station, Model Town, a young man opened fire on his female co-worker after a minor quarrel, at a private restaurant, and then shot himself. The woman was critically injured and died on way to thehospital.
The deceased were later identified as Mehran Asghar, resident of Kahuta, and the female victim, resident of Gujar Khan. Both were factory workers who had gone to the restaurant along with another female colleague.
According to FIR No. 976/25 registered at Humak Police Station, the three were dining when a verbal dispute broke out between Mehran and the deceased. Mehran pulled out a pistol, shot the woman, and then killed himself.
Eyewitnesses immediately called Rescue 1122 and police. Emergency teams shifted the injured woman towards Polyclinic Hospital, but she succumbed to her wounds before arrival.
Police recovered the pistol from beside Mehran’s body, while identity documents of both deceased were collected from the spot. The third woman fled in panic after the firing, and her statement will be recorded during the investigation.
Officials confirmed that the bodies were handed over for post-mortem. A detailed investigation is underway to determine the background and motive behind the tragic incident.
