Lahore: Pakistan men’s team head coach-cum-chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq and Test skipper Azhar Ali has justified their meet-up with Prime Minister Imran Khan.
According to sources, both individuals met the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) high-ups on their uninformed meeting with PM Khan regarding the restoration of departmental cricket.
Misbah and Azhar clarified that they didn’t go against the policy of the PCB and only talked on behalf of players, who got unemployed after the shutdown of departmental cricket, however, the PCB has instructed them to stay careful next time.
It must be noted that last month, Azhar, Misbah and veteran batsman Mohammad Hafeez met PM Khan where they failed to convince the nation’s PM to resume departmental cricket in the country. PCB expressed their displeasure and was summoned this week. – Agencies
